Sullivan & Stanley has officially been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.

Our investment in learning is just one of the reasons why employees at Sullivan & Stanley (S&S) believe it’s a great place to work. We introduced a company-wide learning and development programme last October to better position S&S to scale up by unlocking the full potential of our people. Its purpose is to help everyone close the gap between their current and best-self, not only on the work front, but also putting their health and relationships front and centre too. Right now, we’re part way through the programme and the feedback so far has been fantastic. By taking care of our wellbeing we’re able to show up at our best for ourselves and each other.

Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys, assessing people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work to determine the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list. The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels:

  • 100% of people care about each other here
  • 100% of people feel they are welcomed when they join the company
  • 100% of people feel able to take time off from work when necessary
  • 97% of people are proud to tell others they work here
  • 97% of people feel good about the ways in which we contribute to the community
  • 97% of people feel this is a fun place to work

“At the heart of every organisation are its people and looking after their wellbeing should be much more than a package of impressive perks on a careers website,” explains Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. “We know when employees feel genuinely contented and at ease within their roles, they are much more engaged and productive. Now in our second year of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, we’re once again able to showcase the leading organisations providing cultures conducive to outstanding psychological, physical and social wellbeing. A huge congratulations to Sullivan & Stanley for making this prestigious list.”

Steve Neary, Head of Talent at Sullivan and Stanley says: “It’s fantastic news to be named one of UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing for the second year in a row. Our value of ‘Look After One Another’ is central to the way we show up for each other, and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone in the S&S tribe.”

Founder and CEO of Sullivan & Stanley, Pat Lynes, says: “I am personally thrilled that Sullivan & Stanley has been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for the second consecutive year. We’ve always believed that our people are our greatest asset, and that’s why we place such a strong emphasis on creating a people-centred culture that prioritises health, relationships and wellbeing above all else. I’m particularly proud of our K2 Academy – a bespoke learning and development programme – that gives our entire team access to a world-leading life coach. This is just one example of our commitment to our people, as we believe that by investing in their personal and professional growth, we’re not only helping them unlock their full potential, but also creating a positive ripple effect across our entire organisation. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing team, and I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them.”
