Sonia Sullivan, our Compliance Manager joined the team in June 2019 and has had a tremendous impact on the business from the word go.

The driving force behind all things contracts and compliance, we sat down with Sonia to find out a bit more about her…

Tell us a bit about you and what you do here at S&S?

As Compliance Manager, I make sure that compliance is at the core of our business. From obtaining and checking right to work documents, to ensuring that we have approved and signed contracts in place before the start of any client engagement.

I work closely with our finance partner and assist with any queries from the business and the field. I also ensure our governance process is being followed with every engagement and keep regular communications with all of our customers.

What is your favourite thing about working at S&S HQ?

I think the recognition that you get for any sort of victory. We even have a Slack channel dedicated to just that! It’s nice to work for a company that makes you feel valued, where your input is actually listened to.

What has been your best moment to date?

The Do you have any grand plans for the next 90 days and beyond?

To work closely with our partners to evolve our robust processes in place that drives our Services model and is streamlined to support the growth of the business.

Tell us about your background before joining S&S.

My background is back-office operations within the recruitment industry. In my previous role, I supported all areas of operations from finance to office management before taking ownership of the contract and compliance function of the business as the team grew bigger.

What do you get up to in your spare time outside of work?

I love travelling, planning a holiday is one of my favourite things to do. I also love exploring new cities and going for walks. I’ve lived in London for the last two years so I enjoy spending my weekends exploring all that the city has to offer, finding new restaurants and I love a bottomless brunch.

If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be and why?

Organised. My role is so reactive so staying organised is really important.
