To clients, associates, partners and friends of Sullivan & Stanley.

Today, I’m excited to share some significant news that marks a new chapter in the story of Sullivan & Stanley, a story that you all have been a vital part of over the years.

As we evolve, grow and strive to bring even greater value to businesses around the world, I’m transitioning from my role as CEO to focus on growth and visionary endeavours within our company. At the same time, I’m excited introduce you to our new CEO, Jason Byrne, who will officially take the helm on 9th October 2023.

Why this change?

Let’s start with the question that’s likely on your minds: Why the change, and why now?

To put it simply, this transition represents an evolution, not a revolution. It’s a conscious decision that has been many months in the making, based on my vision for the future and Sullivan & Stanley’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to you, our clients, associates and partners.

I believe in the power of injecting new talent into a business when the time is right. We’ve achieved remarkable growth over the past seven years, from a team of two to over 140 with an annual revenue exceeding £30 million. Now, as we look ahead to the future, it’s the right moment to continue our journey toward becoming a more mature, progressive and disruptive consulting business.

My ongoing role

Rest assured, I’m not leaving. Far from it. My passion for Sullivan & Stanley burns brighter than ever. But on a personal note, I always recognised that I’m founder-first, CEO-second, and that I wouldn’t be the right person to take S&S on the next phase of its journey. It’s time for me to step back as CEO and embrace my sweet spots – being front-facing, focusing on marketing, building relationships, growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.

It’s been quite the journey and I’m proud of all that S&S has achieved under my leadership. But I am ready to pass the baton to Jason and the team as we move into the next stage to propel the business forward. The transition so far has been amazing. The team here have welcomed Jason with open arms which is testament to our shared vision and commitment to continue to deliver transformative change for our clients and stay at the forefront of the industry.

Why Jason Byrne?

This decision to step back from the CEO role has been in the back of my mind since I founded S&S. And with Jason, I know we’ve struck gold. When it came to hiring him, there wasn’t even a question in my mind. It was a no-brainer.

Finding someone who not only looks good on paper but is a genuine, people-centred leader in the real world is extremely rare. Jason’s journey is quite a story. Back in 2005, he was there at the very beginning of Moorhouse, a small start-up consultancy. Fast forward to today, and Moorhouse has become a leading firm of c.330+ people. Jason has seen it all – the highs, the lows, and all the twists and turns of the consulting world. He brings a modern and aligned perspective on how to evolve and challenge this industry, which is exactly what we need.

Jason has shaped and led all aspects of professional services firms. From sales and delivery to people performance, strategy, and change. He brings board-level credibility and relationships from over two decades of turning strategy into action across FTSE organisations and government.

Jason Byrne

But what truly stands out about Jason is his commitment to nurturing inclusive environments and empowering teams. He knows how to make things happen, and his leadership capability encompasses people-first transitions, integrating efforts, driving sustainable practices, and making a real impact. It’s a perfect match for Sullivan & Stanley’s values and our ambitious goal to revolutionise the future of work.

What does it mean for you?

Whether you’re a client, associate, or partner, I want to emphasise that this transition won’t impact your day-to-day interactions with our team. Our dedication to delivering accelerated outcomes and successful transformations remains unwavering. You can expect the same level of commitment and excellence you’ve come to rely on from Sullivan & Stanley.

In fact, with Jason’s leadership and vision, we are poised to bring even more value to your organisations. As we continue to adapt and respond to market conditions, our overall purpose, ambition, and vision remain consistent. Your success remains our top priority.

Looking ahead

I’m genuinely excited about this new chapter for Sullivan & Stanley. With Jason as our CEO, we are better equipped than ever to help senior executives achieve accelerated outcomes and navigate the challenges of change in an ever-evolving business landscape. Our commitment to being a force for good in business and the wider world, and our dedication to our core values remain stronger than ever.

Change is an inevitable part of growth, and we are embracing it whole-heartedly. We are grateful for your trust in Sullivan & Stanley, and we look forward to continuing our journey together, delivering transformative change and shaping the future of work.

Thank you for being an integral part of our story, and here’s to an exciting future ahead.

Warm regards,
Pat Lynes
