Business for Good

Inspiring a future of work for the next generation

Purpose over profit

We have a huge part to play in that next generation working in a world that is inclusive of everyone and truly cares for their communities, people and planet.

In 2016, our Founder and CEO Pat Lynes decided to name the company after his two sons; Sullivan and Stanley. Because of that foundation from day one, purpose over profit has always been at the heart of S&S.

That’s why we are proud to partner with and support organisations and charities with shared values that take their environmental, diversity, inclusion and corporate social responsibilities as seriously as we do.

Good for our community

We are proud to partner with four amazing organisations where we can help make a tangible impact nationally and locally.

Our B-Corp Journey

B-Corp certification means a company is doing business the right way — it's not just about chasing profits, it's about looking out for people and planet. Businesses have to prove they meet high standards on how they treat employees, where it sources materials, how it gives back, and how transparent it is. It’s about making a positive impact while still running a successful business.

We’re currently in the process of getting our B-Corp accreditation, because we believe in doing things better — for our team, our community, and the world.

Employee Experience Awards

We recently won Silver at the Employee Experience Awards based on demonstrating our core beliefs:

Leadership everywhere: We believe leadership is marked by behaviour rather than position and something that everyone regardless of seniority or tenure can demonstrate. We aspire to be Servant Leaders and have adopted many of its principles and practices.

Learning as a habit: We are strong believers of continuous improvement and that learning should be a part of everyday life. We have a library in our office with a bank of inspiring books, everyone has access to the LinkedIn Learning platform and other on-demand learning tracks. We know that habit-forming takes time so we pop a protected learning slot in everyone’s diaries each month. Our uncapped learning fund encourages our team to take responsibility for their own learning.

Diversity and inclusion: Companies that harness diversity simply outperform those that don’t. We talk about being ‘our best selves’ and all new team members complete a Gallup strengths assessment before they join and discuss the results with a Strengths coach. The first step to leveraging diversity is to be our best true selves and be able to express that and be accepted in a positive, inclusive way. You can read our full Equality and Diversity policy here.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals

We want to inspire the future of work for the next generation. To do that, we need to take care of our environment with all of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals front of mind.

  • We love running events at S&S. And when we do, we make sure to always offer organic and plant-based food and beverage options, along with eco-friendly catering.
  • And if we’re feeling generous and want to give someone a gift, we use Social Supermarket to support brands that are positively impacting the world.
